The Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan is located at 275 Slater Street, Suite 1203, Ottawa, Ontario K1P 5H9. You can contact the Embassy of Azerbaijan by phone at (613) 288-0497 or by email at azerbaijan@azembassy.ca.

Before your documents can be legalized by the Embassy of Azerbaijan, you must first submit the documents to Global Affairs Canada. Please read our description on how to authenticate your documents with Global Affairs Canada here. Please note, certain documents need to be notarized before being sent to Global Affairs Canada. Once your documents are properly authenticate, you can begin to assemble your legalization package which you will send to the Embassy of Azerbaijan.

Your legalization package must contain:
  • If you are going to the Embassy in person, you must provide a document that confirms your identity. This can be a driver's licence or passport. If you are mailing your legalization package to the Embassy of Azerbaijan, you should include a notarized true copy of your identity documents.
  • You must also include a declaration in your legalization package addressed to the Consular section of the Embassy of Azerbaijan which you date and sign. This declaration must set out what you want the Embassy of Azerbaijan to do and you must identify which documents require legalization.
  • If you wish documents legalized on behalf of a corporation or legal entity other than yourself, your letter must be on letterhead and be signed by an authorized representative. The letter must also state the intended use of the legalized documents as well as contains the address of the legal entity.
  • The fee for legalizing a document is $50 US dollars and must be paid by money order made out to the Embassy of Azerbaijan. Make sure the money order is in US dollars.
  • Each document you wish to be legalized for use in Azerbaijan must also be accompanied by a photocopy which will be kept by the Embassy. Additionally, if your documents need to be translated, the translations must be printed.
  • If you cannot attend the Embassy in person, you have the option to mail your legalization package to the address listed above. If you are mailing your legalization package, remember to include a self-addressed return envelope to allow the Embassy of Azerbaijan to return your documents.
