Translated Documents

When you need a translation notarized, this typically refers to three elements: (1) certified true copy of the original document, (2) the translation of the original document, and (3) the statement from the Translator.

If you are using a certified translator, the translator will provide a cover letter which does not need to be notarized. However, you can also use someone who is not a certified translator, but is willing to do the work. In this case, it is important to have the non-certified translator swear an affidavit stating that the translation is true. This document does need to be sworn in front of a notary.

It is up to you to determine whether a certified or non-certified translator is acceptable to whatever organization is requesting the translation.
